The all-electric version of the low-cab forward truck is also now eligible for the federal $75,000 iMHZEV purchase rebate

Customers in the Canadian medium- and heavy-duty EV market have a new vehicle to consider: the Isuzu 2025 NN-EV.

This month the Japanese automaker received approval form Transport Canada to retail the electric version of their popular low-cab forward truck. The 2025 NRR-EV will come in four sizes of batteries: 60kWh, 100kWh, 140kWh, and 180kWh and is eligible for the $75,000 medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicle federal purchase rebate.

“These are very exciting times for Isuzu and our Canadian dealers and customers. As the zero-emission market evolves, we are ready to elevate the customer experience with the NRR-EV,” says Shaun Skinner, president of Isuzu Commercial Truck of Canada (ICTC), in a press release.

“As fleets continue to add zero-emission trucks, the Transport Canada incentives are a big help in bringing those customers into the Isuzu brand.”

Isuzu manufactures its 2025 NRR-EV in Charlotte, Michigan since earlier this fall.

NRR-EV specs

The NRR-EV will cost between $115,000 to $190,000 depending on the battery capacity.

But, in addition to the variety of battery sizes, Isuzu is offering different levels of warranty coverage for the NRR-EV.

To start: a three year/unlimited kilometres limited warranty or five year/unlimited km warranty for those who opt for the Isuzu360 connected vehicle platform.

(Isuzu360 is an online platform that allows real-time monitoring of vehicle performance, custom charging schedules and scheduling maintenance.)

As well, batteries have coverage from three years/93,000 km (60kWh) up to eight years/394,000 km (180kWh with Isuzu360).

Finally, EV powertrain components have coverage for three years/80,000 km or eight years/209,000 km with Isuzu360.

“The NRR-EV’s approval by the Canadian authorities really opens the door for customers to experience a great EV product,” says Skinner.

“The additional incentives will help with their purchasing and our warranty will give [customers]…peace of mind.”

ICTC headquarters are in Mississauga, Ont. Vehicle deliveries may be placed now and are expected to arrive to dealers in January.
