Kia has released Canadian pricing for its new PV5 cargo van, and both of its trims are eligible for Canada’s EV Affordability Program (EVAP) rebates.
The PV5, Kia’s first all-electric commercial van, starts with an MSRP of $46,744 for the Basic version. Stepping up to the Plus model starts at $49,095 MSRP.
Vehicles eligible for EVAP that are not built in Canada must have a transactional price of $50,000 or less. Fees such as freight, inspections, and taxes are not included for the price limit.
The two-passenger PV5 has a small footprint with a 2,995-millimetre wheelbase (about the same as a mid-size SUV), but sizeable cargo room at 5,016 litres with a 1,631-pound payload.
A low step-in height of 419 mm, sliding right-side door and wide-opening rear doors make loading and unloading easier. The interior can be customized with shelving and storage.
Underneath, the PV5 has a 71.2 kWh battery, which offers a range of up to 360 km. With 400-volt charging architecture, it can be charged from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in around 30 minutes with up to 150 kW of DC fast charging. It’s equipped with a front-mounted NACS charging port.
The Basic model comes with the South Korean automaker’s Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) of electronic driving aids, including Forward Collision Assist, Highway Driving Assist and others. A 12.9-inch infotainment system features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Plus model adds Surround View Monitor and Blind Spot View Monitor, wireless phone charging and heated seats and heated steering wheel. The Plus also features V2L capabilities for a 120-volt AC power source.
“The PV5 is yet another affordable option the company is introducing in 2026, that expands EV ownership to businesses where they can help reduce fleet running costs,” said David Sherrard, director of strategic planning at Kia Canada, in a press release.
The PV5 is Kia’s first vehicle from Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) commercial electric vehicle strategy. PBVs are meant to be modular, customizable and all-electric.
Built on the E-GMP.S (Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service) platform, the PV5 has a completely flat floor and a modular “building block” design. The platform allows for a tight 5.5-metre turning radius.
The 2027 Kia PV5 is expected to be in Canadian dealerships by the fourth quarter of this year.
